ASKED QUESTIONS

Because we're all type A overachievers, right?

  • When, where, and what is the festival?

    • Please use these Lat/Long Directions for all parking and drop-offs. Do not use Ida Lee Drive.

    • The event is held at Ida Lee Park at the Festival Field located along Route 15. Please follow all signs.

    • We do not have a rain date, but we have infrastructure for inclement weather. 

    • Due to the extensive financial commitments, no refunds are issued within 2 weeks of the event.

  • What are the costs?

    • Every ticket is $5. This serves as a a safety measure and supports LGBTQ+ advocacy.

    • We give away hundreds of free tickets every year to anyone who cannot purchase them, just email.

    • Your ticket gets you free access to the Festival grounds, musical performances, shows, & activities.

    • At your own cost, you can enjoy food, alcohol, merchandise, and other items available for sale.

    • We also ask that you come prepared to tip the drag performers so they don't sashay away!

  • What accommodations are there for people with differing abilities?

    • Parking - We have reserved parking in our festival parking lot for anyone with a Handicap Placard.

    • Interpreters - We'll have ASL interpreters at the stage all day throughout the event.

    • Sensory - There is a sensory area in the activity area for those with sensory needs.

    • Restrooms - There are multiple ADA portable restrooms throughout the park.

    • Mobility - Ida Lee's festival field is a grassy area with hills and some rocky areas. We have ensured that all of our activities are on level and even ground and ask our vendor to mow low for this event.

  • What activities or items are permitted?

    • Leashed dogs that do not disturb others or that are not picked up after

    • Food and drinks for those with dietary restrictions, infants, or medical conditions

    • Small items of food and drinks for all patrons and reusable water containers

    • Blankets and folding chairs, no inflatable furniture

    • Flags, including flag poles, and signs are permitted provided they do not cause a disturbance.

    • Costumes provided masks are not worn until after you have entered the festival. (§ 18.2-422)

  • What activities or items are prohibited?

    • Smoking or vaping, regardless of tobacco content, on the festival field.

    • Nudity, sex toys, sexually suggestive costumes, or sexual items.

    • Profane language, violent or graphic depictions, or offensive content on clothing.

    • Outside alcohol, glass containers, unmarked opaque bottles, and large coolers.

    • Dogs not on a leash at all times, any other animals.

    • Photography for monetized uses and photography of others without their consent.

    • No videography or interviews are permitted without permission from festival organizers.

    • Large backpacks, large bags, drugs and weapons, laser pointers or incendiary devices, sound amplifying devices, wheeled devices or motorized transport (excluding those used for disabilities), flying objects.

    • Loud and obnoxious behavior, openly intoxicated behavior, protesting, amplified voice or sound devices, anti-LGBTQ messaging or signs, aggressive behavior, fighting, damaging personal property, harming the event venue, or interfering with others.

    • While Pride is a sex-positive movement, this is a family-friendly event with children present (who can't consent) and so any sexual activity including sexual acts, groping, petting, touching others without their consent, etc. will be grounds for removal.​​​

  • What else should I know?

    • Violation of our rules may result in a warning or removal with or without notice at the organizer's sole discretion.​​

    • We will have drag performances designed for variety of age ranges. Please use your discretion as a parent.

    • We will have local police present for security enforcement. This is a legal requirement in the Town and County.

    • For the safety of all guests, we will have random bag checks and metal detectors at the entrances.

    • In the event of severe weather, the Festival may be temporarily closed and attendees asked to return to their vehicles.

    • We highly advise proper planning for the heat including hydration, limiting alcohol, sunscreen, and proper dress.

    • If you experience an emergency or medical situation, please contact our volunteers at the Information Desk immediately.

    • Our Team photographs the event for future promotional materials. Let them know if you do not wish to be photographed.
