WHO WE ARE

Loudoun Kids for Kindness is a Charitable Community Group made by kids and teens who want to do good in the world by focusing on those in need.

WHAT WE DO

We believe that kids have so much to offer the world and that together we can do anything. The idea is simple! Once a quarter, we find volunteers who are willing to help the community by dropping off donations bags in their local neighborhood (with a parent's supervision, of course!). After a week, your neighbors will fill their bag with whatever we are collecting and leave it on their porch. Then you go collect it from your neighbors and leave it at your door, where someone will pick it up and take it to donate. Easy peasy!

We're also looking for local businesses willing to host donation boxes throughout the year!

For now, we're doing this as a pilot project to gauge community interest. So please fill out our volunteer form!

February | Love Your Neighbor Food Drive | Loudoun Hunger Relief

After the holidays, food banks are often less looking for essential staples. Help us restock the food banks so that families in need don't have to go hungry this winter! All donations would go to help support the Loudoun Hunger Relief.

May | Spring Into Action Clothing Drive | Mobile Hope
May is a perfect time to do spring cleaning, going though your closet and finding clothes you don’t need anymore. So why not donate through our Clothing Drive? All donations would go to help support Mobile Hope.

August | Back To Class School Supplies Drive | Loudoun Education Association

Time to say goodbye to summer, and hello to school. While you're out shopping for school supplies, pick up something for our School Supplies Drive. All donations would go to help support the Loudoun Education Association.

November | Give Thanks, Give Back Toy Drive | Toys For Tots

December is the month of giving, so this holiday while you pick up presents for your friends and family, get presents for people who are not as fortunate. Donate presents through our Toy Drive. All donations would go to support Toys for Tots

The Loudoun Pride Foundation is proud to sponsor the Loudoun Kids for Kindness as their values align with our own work to help change culture, inspire giving, and create a more equitable world. Due to discrimination, the LGBTQIA+ community disproportionately faces challenges like food insecurity, homelessness, and poverty. Thanks to initiatives like this one, the world is going to be a better place.

Loudoun Kids for Kindness is the first recipient of one of our community grants. We help sponsor them by providing them communication tools, promotion, and purchasing their materials. We can't thank Olivia and all the volunteers who work so hard to make the world a better place!

OUR TEAM

Loudoun Kids for Kindness was started by a local middle schooler named Olivia, though most people know her as Ollie. She was looking at the mail and saw a local advertisement for a grocery store. She thought about how so many people don't have enough food in this world and wanted to do something about it. Ollie comes from an LGBTQIA+ family where her one mother grew up food insecure, so she knows the importance of helping the world through action. She works with other youth to help lead regions and hopes to grow this group into more in the future.

She has poured countless hours into planning, designing, and executing her vision. She believes that kids have the power to change the world, which of course, they do!
